As part of A Focus on Nature, Now for Nature week, we asked young people who are actively striving to make changes and educate on environmental issues to provide a pledge as to what they consider should be done NOW for NATURE...
Dara is an environmental activist, based in Northern Ireland, focussing on all things wildlife and conservation based! He will also be one of our young speakers at A Focus on Nature Now for Nature Conference in September 2019!
'My #NowForNature pledge is "To communicate and raise awareness to political leaders, organisations and communities - the importance of a balanced natural world. To implement ways to do this in my own community through projects which help people and wildlife" Two projects I am involved in this year is 'Hawk Eyes', I raised money for this myself - funds will be used to satellite tag raptors and create awareness of these majestic creatures in the communities which persecution happens. There has been a great response! The second is 'Meadows In Mind' I applied for and was successful in receiving £500 from Grow Wild to create a meadow project in my school. A creative exploration which start with education and practical application, culminating in a book of poetry - the title of the project - focusing on the benefits of nature to our mental health. '
