Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer

 As the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the committee, working to help AFON support diversity and inclusivity in the UK environmental sector. You will work alongside the committee to deliver our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan, carrying out research, organizing training, and building new partnerships. You will work with our Social Media team to communicate with our network and wider audiences, sharing resources, blogs and updates on our pages.

Fundraising Officer

Deadline: 30th September 2020

As the Fundraising Officer you will play a pivotal role on the AFON committee, securing essential grants to fund AFON’s work. You will build and develop relationships with funders, reporting appropriately on agreed outcomes and ensuring that they are suitably credited for their contribution. You will work with the Directors to identify and apply for grants, providing essential funds to finance events, expenses, and purchases. In addition, you will oversee the AFON bank account, processing and recording transactions.

Content Officer

As Content Officer you will work closely with the Social Media Officer to deliver AFON’s social media plans. You will have specific responsibility for communicating with committee members, regional reps and external organisations for any stories or content which may be relevant to share on our channels. You will develop engaging content in various mediums including imagery, video and audio (e.g podcasts). You will be creative and innovative, always seeking new ways to engage with our audience.

Social Media Officer

As the Social Media Officer you will manage AFON’s social media channels in partnership with the Content Officer. This is an essential role as you will be the main point of communication and therefore the face of AFON. You will deal with any messages and comments with the support of the Creative Director. You will develop and deliver a social media plan to promote AFON and the services we provide as well as schedule any campaign and project communications.

Our regional rep scheme is designed to create a sustainable network of young conservationists across the UK.
